Late November Favorites!

Hey guys!
I totally forgot I wanted to do a November faves post XD Oh well, here it is now! I'm actually gonna combine November and December favorites because this month is almost over anyway.

So these past 2 months I listened to a lot of different kinds of music. Lots of classic bands that I had sort of neglected for a good year. Too many awesome bands to listen to!

First band is one that I never really got that into, so I decided to check out their album Elephant Riders. Yep, that would be the band Clutch.
Honestly I'm not sure why I put off listening to more of their stuff. The only song I knew (and liked) from them was The Yeti. I do love that song and it's probably still my favorite Clutch song, but really I dig everything off of Elephant Riders.

I won't talk about Soundgarden even though they were one of the bands I listened to the most lately because I already mentioned them in the October faves post. So moving on, we come to my all-time favorite jam band: Phish.

Phish's album Rift

Oh man, I love these guys so much. My fantastic music teacher Duane got me into them. Phish is probably the most talented group of musicians I can think of that aren't jazz musicians or classical composers. But yeah, been revisiting memories of this past summer with some of my favorite Phish songs like It's Ice, Split Open and Melt, and You Enjoy Myself as well as their new song Fuego (I'm in love with by the way) which they played in Atlantic City when debuting their new album.

Okay, last ones. These two are classic. I have loved them literally all my life; my dad played their music all the time when I was growing up. And they would be RUSH and Yes.
Geddy Lee (bassist and lead vocalist of RUSH) and Rick Wakeman (keyboardist for Yes) were my first musical inspirations.
RUSH I may have neglected to listen to simply because of a certain someone at School of Rock who obsessed over them a bit much (not gonna mention any names, but he knows who he is!). My current favorites from RUSH are Freewill, In the Mood (a really fun song), The Trees and What You're Doing (so badass!).

This album cover is so awesome. I love owls!
And Yes is one of my all-time favorite bands. I was so bummed I missed out on playing Astral Traveler in the School of Rock Psychedelic Rock show, they did awesome!
If you're interested, I recommend checking out Long Distance Runaround, I've Seen All Good People, and the acoustic version of South Side of the Sky (this song is so beautiful, the piano is so gorgeous.)

My favorite Yes record

So here's my list of top ten listens for November and December. :)

10. Freewill - RUSH
9. Fuel Me - Crush 40
8. I've Seen All Good People - Yes
7. Fuego - Phish
6. Waking Up - Julien-K
5. Bouncing Around the Room - Phish
4. The Yeti - Clutch
3. Summer of the Strange - The Toadies (WARNING: This music video has explicit content. Because boobies.)
2. Sample in a Jar - Phish
1. Halfway There - Soundgarden

Rock on!
